Our history

1930

Torleif Hamran, together with two brothers, establishes the Hamran carpentry at Snartemo. They make doors, windows, stairs and sewing kits, among other things.

1938

The Oslo School Board grants Hamran a license to produce workbenches for schools. We still make around 500 such benches annually.

1957

We start producing kitchens. While many competitors go for plastic or painted surfaces, we focus on solid wood – in the beginning mostly birch, later also beech and oak.

2001

Trond Hamran becomes general manager. Step by step, he takes the company in a more ambitious direction.

2009

Hamran starts making entire interiors, as well as kitchens. We now tailor total interior solutions from the best materials. Sustainability and the use of local wood become even more important than before.
