History

Torleif Hamran establishes together with two brothers Hamran Snekkerverksted at Snartemo. They make, among other things, doors, windows, stairs and sewing boxes.

The School Board in Oslo grants Hamran a license to produce planer benches for school use. We are still carpentry approx. 500 such benches annually.

We start kitchen production. While many competitors go for plastic and painted kitchens, our focus is on solid wood - initially mostly birch, later also beech and oak.

Trond Hamran takes over as general manager. Step by step, he takes the company in a more ambitious direction.

Hamran is fully committed to interiors, in addition to kitchens. We now tailor total solutions from the best materials. Sustainability and the use of local wood are becoming even more important than before.

The Oslo studio is being expanded to become the Made By Wood display room.

Hamran is nominated for Bo Bedre's design award as producer of the year for having made furniture, interior and exterior for Restaurant Under.

Hamran is invited to participate in the Norwegian Presence design fair in Milan. We focus to a greater extent on exports.
